If you have an abundance of cucumbers from your home garden and you’re looking for a simple way to prepare them, try a simple cucumber salad.
Cucumber salads often appear at fancy luncheons or dinner parties, and they’re quite easy to make. Many folks use a variety of ingredients for a salad that requires little time to prepare.
For this simple recipe, you’ll need the following ingredients to serve two to four people:
Three or four medium-sized cucumbers
1 tsp. of salt
2 tbs. of sugar
3 tbs. of vinegar – You can use white vinegar. Some like the apple cider vinegar.
1 ½ c. of water
Now all you need is a fancy dish or a bowl
that has a nice color to it for your salad.
Begin by washing the cucumbers thoroughly. Then, you can peel the skin off or leave it on. That’s up to you.
Once you’ve peeled the cucumbers, slice them. Place the slices in the bowl. Add the one teaspoon of salt, two tablespoons of sugar and three tablespoons of vinegar.
Stir the ingredients around until the sugar and salt appear to dissolve. Then, add the one and one-half cups of water.
You may need to add a little more water at this step, depending on how large your cucumbers are or how thick you have cut your cucumbers.
Once you have all of the ingredients in the bowl, you’ll want to refrigerate the cucumber salad for about one hour. Then, serve.
Enjoy!
